Breaking Down the Bracket

May 4, 2015

When this bracket was first being announced, I thought the biggest shocker would be that Notre Dame was given the top seed instead of Syracuse.  As the seedings and matchups rolled in, this debate faded quickly.  The biggest theme to this bracket is simply the number of first round rematches, potential second round rematches, and potential 2014 tournament rematches.   But first off, the seeded teams: Notre Dame (10-2) Syracuse…

Simmons: Tournament Time Has Arrived

Tournament time is finally here! For a field that appeared like it would be pretty straight forward, this bracket has some surprises. First off, Notre Dame took the No. 1 overall seed, edging out Syracuse which received the No. 2 seed. Syracuse has the number one RPI and the number one strength of schedule. Furthermore, Syracuse has more top five and top ten wins. While the Irish did not win…
