The Peterborough Timbermen split their Family Day weekend with one win and one loss. They prevailed over the Paris RiverWolves 16-12 on Saturday at Children’s Arena but lost a 15-14 heartbreaker in overtime to St. Catharines at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. Arena Lacrosse League to Debut in Canada in January 2017

Another year, another lacrosse league start up. The Arena Lacrosse League, a project from last year thought to have dispersed, announced on Monday it would open its inaugural season in January as an Ontario-based league. Teams will be based in Oshawa, Six Nations, Paris, Peterborough, St. Catharines, and Toronto. The teams will alternate between the GM Centre in Oshawa and Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
