The heat from the sky wasn’t the only thing on fire in Annapolis as the Chesapeake Bayhawks played like they had a hometown advantage Sunday afternoon against the New York Lizards at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Nine different players contributed to the scoresheet in the Bayhawks’ 18-13 win. Some of these goal scorers like Andrew Kew (two goals) and Lyle Thompson (three goals) were expected. However, one was not: C.J. Costabile, whose…
On Saturday the Philadelphia Barrage returned to the playing field after an 11-year absence and faced the defending champion Chesapeake Bayhawks. Unfortunately, the Barrage just fell short by falling 16-11. Tommy Palasek got the ball rolling for the Barrage by scoring the first of his three goals of the MLL season to start the Barrage on a quick three-goal run. Mark Matthews and Shayne Jackson would find the back of…
The Chesapeake Bayhawks are anxious to play the 2020 season on their home field at Navy Marine-Corps Memorial Stadium as the reigning Major League Lacrosse champions. They are also hoping to swoop in for a repeat championship this season. Although a lot of fan favourites and perennially dominating players will be back, the coaching staff changed in the off season and one has to wonder if that will impact the team…

Despite all four playoff teams clinching their spots last week, the final week of Major League Lacrosse regular season featured some close and high scoring games. The underdogs ruled the weekend as both teams that missed the playoffs – New York and Dallas – won their games rather than tank and enter into rebuild mode early. Perhaps the playoff teams wanted to rest for a championship run, but then again…
Last week’s Major League Lacrosse action saw the playoff field set. Chesapeake, Denver, Boston and Atlanta all secured their berths with two weeks left in the regular season, leaving Dallas and New York on the outside looking in. This past weekend saw the top two teams in the Bayhawks and Outlaws face off in the Mile-High City at Peter Barton Stadium. Chesapeake jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in…
This past week Major League Lacrosse saw the Dallas Rattlers defeat the Boston Cannons and the Chesapeake Bayhawks as Dallas continued their win streak and now find themselves a game behind fourth place Atlanta at 6-7. Dallas usurped the title of hottest team in MLL from Boston which dropped the Cannons down to second place and moved the Bayhawks into first despite Chesapeake losing to the Rattlers. Dallas now finds…
On August 10, the logjam at the top of the Major League Lacrosse standings was broken as the Chesapeake Bayhawks claimed the number one spot, ending a three-way tie for first place after the dust settled. Despite faceoff specialist Max Adler’s record setting 95.8% wins at the X in Denver’s visit to Chesapeake, the Bayhawks proved too much for the slumping Outlaws as they dropped their third game in a…
