NLL: Bandits Look to Rebound Against Swarm

The Bandits are hoping their home opener tonight goes better than their season opener last night. After dropping their first game 13 to 8 to Philadelphia they look to get on the right path tonight against the Minnesota Swarm.

The game is the first time we’ll see the Minnesota Swarm rookies suiting up in the NLL, including Brock Sorenson, Kiel Matisz, and Shayne Jackson. Minnesota is looking like a team that could challenge in the Western Conference.

For the Bandits to win, many of their top guns are going to need to step up in a way they didn’t last night. Shawn Williams, John Tavares, Tracey Kelusky, and Luke Wiles each only had one goal. These are the players that need to carry Buffalo if they are hoping to have any success.

According to reports the Bandits will be starting backup goaltender Kurtis Wagar due to having two games in two nights. Buffalo signed him this offseason after serving as the Wings backup last season.

With the Bandits losing the first game, it’ll be important for them to not get in too big a hole early in the season. Getting a win would mean turning things in the right direction. For Minnesota, this is a great opportunity for them to start the season on the right foot. With their young team a little momentum could go a long way.

Face-off is at 7:30 from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo. It can be watched on the Lacrosse Network on Youtube live or listened to on NLL Radio.
