Breaking Down the MLL Supplemental Draft Pool

We recently published the player pool for the upcoming MLL supplemental draft. Scrolling through that list of 856 can be pretty daunting, so I’m going to break things down to get a better idea of the players trying for a spot in the league. Age The birth years of those in pool span a huge range going from 1962 all the way up to 1994. Given the success of Casey…

NLL Scouting Report: Calgary Roughnecks

In the Roughnecks Sunday afternoon matchup against the Minnesota Swarm they didn’t dress their full compliment of players, as big names like Shawn Evans, Jeff Shattler, Curtis Dickson, Jon Harnett, Greg Harnett and Tor Reinholdt were missing from their lineup. With that being said it’s fairly easy to see what the Roughnecks coaching staff is looking to do with team this season. The offense ran through Dan Dobbie with Evans…

Bandits Release Mike Melnychenko

The Buffalo Bandits have released draft pick Mike Melnychenko following their first pre season game. Melnychenko was the sixth round pick of the Bandits in the 2014 NLL draft. Melnychenko went much later in the draft than was expected, as he was ranked as a top 20 prospect. Buffalo drafted all lefties, so it was going to be hard to crack that roster on that side. There is a possibility…
