Stukenberg, Terps Look to Top Penn State

The Maryland Terps are traveling to State College this weekend to take on the Nittany Lions.  This will be a great matchup between the two teams as, they are both coming off of their first few matches undefeated, and prepared for action.

Penn State defeated Bucknell Wednesday night 21-9.   The Nittany Lions played well as a team, and their strengths lied in the attackers scoring ability.  Specifically, Tatum Coffey had a great game, tying her career scoring record.  If the Nittany Lions rely on their quick offense, they are sure to see success in this weekend’s game.

As for Maryland, they  are also coming into Saturday’s game with three undefeated matches.  They are having a great showing so far, and some newcomers are stepping up to lead the team.  Freshman Zoe Stukenberg scored her first hat trick of her college career against Richmond on the 16th.  The Terps are looking strong and synchronized, and it will definitely be a challenge for the Nittany Lions to keep up with their intense style of play.

Penn State is ranked  8/7, and Maryland is ranked 2/3 so the Lions will definitely have to put up a fight during this weekend’s matchup.  Both Teams have smart defenders and skilled attackers, and very solid goalkeepers, so Saturday’s match will definitely be a competitive one.  The game is set to be played on Penn State’s outdoor lacrosse field at 3pm.
