Wings Fall to Bandits, Take on Rock

This is the second game for the wings this pre-season, last night the fell to the Bandits 20-12. The teams played 5/15 min quarters; Score was 16-11 after 4. Veterans Kevin Crowley played first half and Drew Westervelt played the second half, as the Wings played mostly the rookies and free agents to get them some time and made sure the veterans dint get injured. All players were involved even those on IR as Jordan Hall saw a few shifts. I’m not taking much from this game as this was the first time the whole team was together since the first weekend in December and the main goal is not to get injured.

The Toronto Rock come into tonight with Nick Rose between the pipes, Runner-Up MVP Garrett Billings, Colin Doyle, Stephan LeBlanc, etc.. Toronto has played a few pre-season games already, so this team has been gelling together for a few games already, so I wouldn’t expect a lot of errors from the Rock, but also I wouldn’t expect anything too risky as the last thing the team wants are injuries before the start of the season.

Tonight for the Wings I think you may see veterans playing a bit more with there possible lines going into the regular season, as well as some mixing up of the lines as well. I know the Wings want a better output on the scoreboard, as the fans & the Wings don’t want to see another 20 goal outburst against them. After tonight’s game, it will be time to get down to serious business as the Wings open the regular season on Jan 11 versus last nights opponents the Buffalo Bandits. Then on the 19th they return to Toronto to face the same Toronto Rock. I’m sure whatever mistakes occurred last night will be corrected for tonight’s game. If any rookies made any type of mistakes they need to correct them tonight, as everyone knows there are other players that have been released that are looking for a spot somewhere.

Main goal tonight for both teams… No injuries!
