Wilson Of Huge Importance to Bandits

November 3, 2013

In case anyone has not noticed, allow myself to make the situation known:   The Buffalo Bandits are practically flipping their entire roster. They’ve made enough transactions in the past two offseasons to equal approximately half their roster, at the least.   In November of 2012, they collected Aaron Wilson from the Edmonton Rush. Wilson stacked up quite the statistics while playing with the Rush. The 10-year veteran last season…

October 31, 2013

Here is the new CBA in a nutshell according to myself:   Players are locked into same salaries for more playing time Teams pay penalties for salary cap overages, which get circulated to other teams staying below cap All this to promote and grow the National Lacrosse League in America       The new Collective Bargaining Agreement compromised between the NLL and the Professional Lacrosse Players’ Association (PLPA) involved…

October 29, 2013

Every American has heard of two things: soccer (football) and Team USA. Given this, many people can associate “Team USA” with at least one or two sports played internationally: basketball, soccer, cycling, etc. How many people think of lacrosse when they hear “Team USA”?

Playing starting goalie for the Buffalo Bandits is Kurtis (Kurt) Wagar. Born on November 5, 1985, #38 comes out of St. Catherines, Ontario and attended Brock University right in his hometown. How They Got Here: Buffalo Bandits

October 25, 2013

There has been an apparently consistent theme to Steve Dietrich’s trades for the Buffalo Bandits this year: forget draft pick spots, we want experienced youth.   Back in the later parts of summer and throughout September Dietrich made numerous moves and transactions involving draft picks:   A transaction with the Calgary Roughnecks including a 10th overall pick in the 2013 Entry Draft and a second round selection in the 2015…

NLL Off Season Outlook: Buffalo Bandits

October 24, 2013

The official free agency lists are in and “empty” positions are up for grabs. However, the combination of the National Lacrosse League’s way of operating coupled with my lack of roster knowledge make for my very open and possibly obscure predictions.   In this article especially, any readers may feel free to comment any thoughts, suggestions and/or recommendations.   It’s a long way to the top If you wanna rock…

Is Cosmo Still the Answer in Buffalo?

October 18, 2013

Anthony Cosmo has been around the league, both in years and geographies. He has participated on five different NLL teams from the Toronto Rock to Washington (San Jose) Stealth, to Boston, to Minnesota, and finally now in Buffalo.   Most people understand that there are hardships both professionally and personally throughout life. Cosmo’s career hardships are quite clear themselves: geographical changes, team/coach/community support alterations, and distances.   Let us take…

Diachenko Brings New Depth to Bandits

October 8, 2013

Coach Troy Cordingley must be in my head; or is it the other way around? I mean, come on! I’m talking about the Buffalo Bandits and how they should reinvent themselves; as I think of a solution the improvement is made. Nick Diachenko of Delaware Men’s Lacrosse was a standout at school along with one or two others. He stands six foot and 180 pounds. Picked 14th overall in this…

Smith Brings Stability to Bandits D

October 5, 2013

Just this past Wednesday, I brought up the fact that the Buffalo Bandits will have a struggle ahead of them in replacing Jon Harasym. Though the National Lacrosse League is full of players ranging from 19 to 45, the median age seems to be 26-27 years old. When looking at those retiring, the majority seem to be doing so in their mid-30s.       Steenhuis and Watt are both 28…
