Friars Need to Improve in 2013

As the season approaches providence has a new coaching system and coach. Chris Gaberielli who was the Blue Devils assistant. He has spent six seasons with Duke. Under his guidance and wisdom, Duke was among the top scoring defenses. He will be replacing Chris Burdick, who had coached Providence for fourteen seasons. Last season they had a record of 2-12 and had just won 5 games in the past 3 years.

Even though they had a disappointing season, they did shock Villanova 15-11 in the season finale. Last year the Friars started on an 11 game losing streak. The Friars who need to stop giving opponents the opportunity to score, needs disclipline.Their shots per game was very disturbing. They could not get any stops or even score. They was ranked fifth worst in the country. Shots per offensive opportunity ranked forth worst in the country.

With a new coach and a new system in the making. This organization needs more consistences. The improvements that the Friars needs more of, is stops from the defensive end and an offense that can move the ball around. With a new coach, coming into town, the Friars have a lot of improving to even contend in their conference and nation
