Army and Navy Victories On Different Ends of Patriot League Spectrum
The Patriot League is one of the most fascinating to follow in college lacrosse. Not only because of teams like Loyola defeating the likes of Virginia and Johns Hopkins, but because the teams ranked second through fifth in the conference can compete with nearly anyone. Navy, now 2-1 on the season, were one of the biggest dark horse picks before this season to make the national tournament. The Midshipmen proved…
#4 Syracuse Tops #12 Albany 16-7 In Early Season Meeting
Syracuse stormed out of the gate early in the first quarter en route to a 16-7 victory over in-state rival Albany Sunday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. The Orange came into Sunday’s game without graduate transfer attackman Nick Piroli, who head coach John Desko said would be week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Senior Tim Barber took his place, as he spent some time at attack last season when Randy Staats was injured. Barber…

Stealth Use Eight Straight Goals to Get Past Calgary
It may be too soon to suggest this was a season-saving win for the Vancouver Stealth, but an eight-goal run that propelled the Stealth to a 14-13 overtime victory over the Calgary Roughnecks may have done just that. Corey Small scored the winner at 1:16 of overtime, capping off a first-star performance as Vancouver moved to 3-4 on the season with a pivotal win over the rival ‘Necks. Calgary moves…
Swarm Sting Bandits With 19-15 Victory
After walking away from the Air Canada Centre with a crushing 14-12 defeat at the hands of the winless Toronto Rock on Friday, the Buffalo Bandits (4-4) had little time for reflection as a possible series clinching win against the Georgia Swarm (4-4) was on the line Saturday night at the First Niagara Center. Rose Goal “An Awesome Moment” on Friday Night
1-6 never felt so good. Toronto Rock goaltender Nick Rose was all smiles after his team’s first win of the season Friday night, a night on which he also made team history. Rose’s empty net goal at 13:43 of the fourth quarter was the first ever goal scored by a Toronto Rock goaltender. A goalie goal. It was the insurance marker in a 14-12 win over the Buffalo Bandits, the…
