Last night the Langley Thunder surprised the lacrosse world with their win over the Peterborough Lakers in game one of the Mann Cup. On Twitter, we asked for fan reaction, and here is what you had to say. @lacrossewetrust If the Thunder win the Cup, is it too early to name the Stealth champions of the NLL? — Dan Shirley (@danshirley) September 8, 2012 RT still could b sweep as…

Mann Cup: Thunder Take Game One
No one likes being the road team in the Mann Cup. First there’s the cross country flight, then there’s a lacrosse game, then there’s the hostile fans, and that’s if your entire team can book the time off work in time (right 2011 Brampton Excelsiors?). When you’re the Langley Thunder, couple all of the above with the fact you’re headed to a province no BC team has won a Championship…

Rochester Knighthawks transition man Travis Hill will be back to help the team defend their 2012 National Lacrosse League Championship after agreeing to a new one-year deal. “It feels great to be back to defend the Cup,†said Hill, who won his first Champion’s Cup in May. Hill finished the 2012 season with a career-high four goals, and collected 25 loose balls in nine games. The Six Nations product was…

Reaction: Rascals Go Dormant, PLL Future in Doubt
Yesterday we learned the New Jersey Rascals have decided not to play in the Professional Lacrosse League in 2012, their season set to start in just a week. The PLL’s questionable history has long been discussed, but yesterday, we took to Twitter to find the fan reaction from others who followed the league. @lacrossewetrust I suspect the bigger issue is leadership, and not number of teams. At least that’s my…

Ingemi: A Word About Professional Lacrosse
I’ve had a lot to say about the PLL and all the other lacrosse leagues. Here is my biggest gripe with professional lacrosse at ANY level. NALL was a great idea at first. Develop American players. In Canada they have their Juniors and Senior leagues and the NLL, the real pro indoor league, is full of Canadians. Not many Americans because there is no where for Americans to learn the…

WLA Season Review
With the WLA season now over and the Langley Thunder once again crowned champions of the WLA let’s take a look back at what was the WLA season. The team that was by far  the worst in the league was the Maple Ridge Burrards. The Burrards finished with a record of 4-13-1 and suffered all season from late game collapses and poor goaltending. There were many games this year the…

2012 Brock Badgers: Baggataway or Bust
The Brock University Badgers have made a trip to the CUFLA Baggataway Cup Finals the last three consecutive years including bringing home the hardware back to St.Catharines in 2009. For most programs that would be considered successful, but for Coach Justin Kennedy and the 18 time Canadian Champion Badgers it is disappointing. “We take a different approach here at Brock Lacrosse†said Coach Kennedy. “When the team was asked about…
