The Brooklin Redmen have always been a lacrosse club built around home grown talent, but the 50th edition of the club will have an even more local flavour with 20 of 25 players hailing from the Durham Region. This also could be the strongest team the Redmen have assembled since the 2000 Mann Cup winner, the last time Brooklin were crowned Men’s Senior A Lacrosse National Champions. “I really want…
Kodiaks Fall to Oakville in First Cobourg Contest
The game result wasn’t what the Cobourg Kodiaks wanted but their debut at the Cobourg Community Centre was a night to be remembered. A crowd of 1217 new and seasoned lacrosse fans took in the home opener for the newly relocated MSL team as they lost to the Oakville Rock 10-5. Formerly the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks, the team struggled with attendance and community support at the Waterloo Rec Complex. In January,…

Rattlers Win First Home Game, Take Down Bayhawks
It’s weird to say that we’re already in Week 6, but here we are, and what better way for the Rattlers to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend then taking down the 3 – 2 Chesapeake Bayhawks in a great matchup this past Saturday, in, even weirder, their home opener! While the College Lacrosse world prepared for a historic title game on Memorial Day, the Upstate New York pros took to the field…
North Carolina Tar Heels 2016 Mens Lacrosse Champions
This game started typical UNC/Maryland. The Tar Heels came out with four goals in the first 4:10, but then the Terps came back with a vengeance. Scoring four of their own with two of them coming from Dylan Maltz. The defense on both sides seemed to be invisible the first quarter as a total of 11 goals were scored. The second quarter seemed to start off the same way with North…

LeMoyne Dolphins DII National Champions
When people talk college lacrosse it’s usually the big universities in division one, Denver, Maryland Notre Dame, etc. But when Memorial Day weekend hits, there is plenty of action in divisions two and three. Such was the case today in Philadelphia. The LeMoyne Dolphins (20-0) defeated Limestone Saints (21-1) 8-4 to win their fifth National Championship. LeMoyne is about 10 minutes from downtown Syracuse, while Limestone is in Gaffney, SC. …
Rush Outlast Bandits 11-9 in Game 1 of Champion’s Cup
The Saskatchewan Rush are one huge step closer to repeating as NLL champions with last night’s 11-9 win over the Buffalo Bandits. The win puts Saskatchewan in the driver’s seat in the best-of-three series as the two teams head west to Saskatoon for Game 2. In spite of a combined 26 shots on goal in the first quarter, both goalies frustrated the opposition offenses with rock solid performances. Aaron Bold…
NCAA Lacrosse Final Four: Brown’s Run Comes to an End
PHILADEPHIA, PA – Junior Dylan Molloy watched from the sidelines last week as his fellow teammates won an 11-10 thriller over Navy at home during the NCAA Division I Quarterfinals. Molloy, who was considered by many to be sidelined for the remainder of the season, surprised the nation by warming up versus Maryland Saturday afternoon. Molloy wasn’t a chess piece for the Bears, but contributed with two goals including bringing…
